My name is Steve Unowsky, and I am proud and honored to be the
principal of the A+ Arts Programs at Linwood and Monroe. In 2007-2008,
St. Paul Public Schools combined Linwood A+ Arts Magnet K-6 Elementary
with Monroe Pre-K-8 Community School. Our K-3rd grade programs and our
Discovery Club are located at Linwood, while our Pre-K and 4th-8th grade
programs are at Monroe. This is an exciting new opportunity to reshape
education and our two schools to better serve our children and families.
We would like for parents and students alike to know that they are very
important to us. The number one goal of the entire school staff is to
provide the best possible education for our students in a safe and
secure environment. We work to ensure that all families are involved in
the school community. Please help your child reach optimal success by
attending conferences, volunteering in the classroom or school,
attending parent nights and evening programs, joining school
communities (site council, PTA), going on field trips, attending Friday
Gatherings, and making sure that your child reads and completes
homework regularly.
In the 2008-2009 school year, our specific school goals include:
building and strengthening our school community across the two
campuses, improving literacy instruction, and expanding arts
programming to include all grades and children. Please join us in
striving for success in all of these areas.
