What is Responsive Classroom?
The Responsive Classroom is an approach to teaching based on the belief that social learning is as important as academic learning. A clear social curriculum helps students meet both high social and high academic goals. A positive climate in the school helps children feel a part of the community and responsible for their own behavior and learning.

Many of Linwood's traditions such as our Gatherings, morning meetings, and cross grade buddies fit into the Responsive Classroom approach.

Most teachers at Linwood A+ have been trained and have been gradually implementing the program through Morning Meetings, Guided Discoveries of materials, Classroom Organization, and Rules and Logical Consequences developed from our Hopes and Dreams. These components are not something that we do at a separate time but rather the ways we interact as a community throughout the day.
