Notes from 2/21/07
Highlights of the minutes -
Prior Minutes approved with changes (add Leo Smith as attendee)
Mary Weiland presented the budget which was reviewed and approved.
Funds request for piano moving and for the fourth grade Opera was approved
4th grade Opera Special funds for incidentals approved up to $500.
Julie discussed band requirements for instrument repairs and special event
that the PTA will consider at a following meeting.
Al will consult with bylaws and MN PTA f for Officer Elections for 2007/08
cycle.
Parent Teacher Conference meals (March 22 and March 23) are being coordinated by Lisa Harrington.
Book Sale - Last year book sale was held during conferences. This could be
challenging to get put together by that date.

Minutes from 1/16/2007 Meeting
Gross proceeds from dance $1,400.
Heaps of fun – Big thanks to Chris Macgowan for providing entertainment and to all the volunteers for a fun event.
Cathy Burrell renewed PTA membership for 2007.
Action taken – Unanimous vote to approve up $250 for
African American Involvement Night Feb 22nd for supplies and entertainment.
All are welcome to a special evening.

February 22nd - African American Involvement Night at Linwood Food/Entertainment 5:30 to 7 PM
February 23rd and 26th - 4th grade Opera
BOOK FAIR & Teacher Conferences
March 22nd and 23rd
The book fair is a fund raiser and opportunity for students to add to their home library and families to gift books to the library or classroom
During Teacher Conferences the PTA has organized the appreciation meals that many families have provided for the teachers and staff during conferences.
Volunteers' needed to staff for the book sale.
Volenteers needed to provide a dish for conferences.
A chairperson for each activity would be welcome and supported.
International Night - Showcase of Learning Date TBD during week of May 7-11
Mouthwatering food and eye-popping display of educational powers of Linwood students and parents. Munch and Mingle.
Spring Dance Friday June 1st -
PTA - Parent / Teacher / Staff End of Year Party TBD
